2018 Duke Colloquium

William Jewell College. Liberty, MO.

The eighteenth annual David Nelson Duke Colloquium involves students from all academic disciplines presenting their scholarly works to faculty, staff, students, family members, and the community at large.

The Colloquium concept increases involvement of students in research, which William Jewell College believes to be a hallmark of an excellent liberal arts college. The Colloquium is designed to acquaint students with the process and academic rigors of presenting research, creative projects, or performances in a scholarly manner. Additionally, the Colloquium stimulates interaction between students and faculty and allows students to showcase their academic achievements.

This presentation, titled Live Event Lighting, is a demonstration of my concert lighting studies from the Stagecraft Institute of Las Vegas (SILV). Using equipment available at Jewell Theatre Company, a simulated concert event was devised with a recorded track and three mannequin models. This was the first performance of its kind at William Jewell College.
